Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Dandy Dev, Ltd., a Colorado company (“Puck Party,” “we,” “us” or “our”), collects, uses and shares information about you when you use the Puck Party app at puckparty.app and related services, including our emails (together, the “Service”).
Our marketing website at puckparty.com, including its waitlist, is covered by a separate privacy policy at puckparty.com/privacy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. Your use of the Service is also governed by our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Email address. You sign in with your email address, using a one-time code or link we email to you. We do not use passwords.
- Sign in with Google. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us, as Google shows you when you sign in. We use your name only to suggest a display name, which you confirm or change. We do not use your Google profile picture.
- Your agreement. The version of the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy you accepted, and when you accepted it.
Profile information
- Your display name, which you choose and can change at any time.
- A profile photo, if you upload one. Your browser resizes and re-encodes the photo before it is uploaded, which removes embedded information such as location data.
- Your Home Club, the clubs you follow, and the clubs on your Hate List.
- Your friend code, and, if you joined through someone’s invitation, who invited you and how you arrived.
Game and social activity
- Your picks and answers, when you made them and any changes you made before a pick locked, and related game activity such as card packs, lineups and reactions to games.
- Results derived from your picks, such as your Hockey IQ, records, streaks, awards and leaderboard positions.
- Your teams and team roles, the parties you attend, team invitations you send or receive, friend requests, friendships and blocks.
- Anything you write in the Service, such as a team name.
- Notifications we show you, and which games and results you have viewed.
Location
If you ask the Service to find your local club during onboarding, your browser asks for your permission and then provides your approximate location. That location is compared with arena locations on your device only. It is not sent to us or stored.
Information collected automatically
- Cookies and local storage. The Service uses one cookie, which keeps you signed in. It also stores small items in your browser’s local storage, such as your club preferences, a pending team invitation, and display settings, so that the app loads quickly and remembers where you left off. These stay on your device until you sign out, clear them or delete your account.
- Server and security logs. Our hosting, database and security providers receive your IP address, browser type and request details when you use the Service, and keep logs that we use to operate, debug and secure the Service.
- Player images. Player photos in the Service load directly from the NHL’s image servers, so your browser sends your IP address and basic request information to them.
- No analytics or advertising trackers. The Service does not currently use analytics, advertising pixels or other third-party tracking tools. We will update this policy before we add any.
2. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- create and secure your account, sign you in and send you sign-in codes and account emails;
- run the game: record and lock your picks, grade them, calculate Hockey IQ and leaderboards, and correct results when game data changes;
- run teams, parties, friends, invitations and notifications;
- operate, maintain, debug and improve the Service;
- protect the Service and its users, prevent cheating, fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service; and
- comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not send you marketing email.
3. What other people can see
- Your profile. Your display name, profile photo, Home Club and friend code can be seen by other people using the Service, who can also find you by name or friend code. Your profile photo can be seen only by people signed in to the Service, and not by anyone you have blocked or who has blocked you. Treat this information as visible to everyone who uses Puck Party.
- Your picks. Other people cannot see your pick for a game before that game starts. Before the game, friends and teammates may see that you have made picks. Once the game starts, your picks can be seen by other people using the Service.
- Your Hockey IQ. Once you have enough graded picks (currently 25), your Hockey IQ and record are published on leaderboards that other people using the Service can see.
- Your teams and friends. Members of a team see the team’s members and their team activity. Your friends can see your Hate List and your activity in games you share.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers. Companies that work for us under contract, including our hosting providers, our database, authentication and storage provider, our network and security provider, and our email delivery provider. The email delivery provider sends your sign-in codes and links and other account emails, so it receives your email address and the contents of those emails. These providers may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- Sign-in provider. If you sign in with Google, Google receives information about that sign-in under its own privacy policy.
- AI service providers. We use AI services to help write and check posts for our @puckparty account on X and to help review game results. They receive NHL game, player and question data and aggregate totals, such as how many people answered a question. We do not send them your name, your email address, your picks or anything you write in the Service.
- Other people using the Service, as described in “What other people can see.”
- Legal and safety reasons. When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with law or legal process, to protect the rights, property or safety of Puck Party, our users or others, or to investigate fraud, cheating, abuse or security problems.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets or a similar transaction, or if Puck Party is transferred to another entity. Information transferred in this way remains subject to this Privacy Policy unless you are notified otherwise.
- Aggregate or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you, such as how many people picked each answer.
- With your consent, or at your direction, for example when you share an invitation link.
Our @puckparty account on X posts about NHL games and questions, never about you. To write those posts, we read public posts on X, including public replies to NHL clubs’ posts. We keep only totals derived from those replies, not the replies or who wrote them.
5. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Account, then Delete account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. We send a confirmation to your email address.
When you delete your account, we delete your sign-in, profile, profile photo, picks and answer history, Hockey IQ and records, awards, team memberships, friendships, blocks, invitations, notifications and the rest of your game activity, including your account identifier and per-pick results in our internal records of corrections to game results. If you lead a team with other members, you can choose who takes over; otherwise, its longest-standing member does.
Some information remains after deletion, without your name or profile:
- Commissioner’s Challenges you created that another person answered, and teams you created, remain for their other members and are shown as created by a deleted player.
- Aggregate results, such as how many people picked each answer, do not change.
- Copies in backups and in our providers’ logs, including email delivery logs, are kept for a limited period under their retention schedules, and are then deleted or overwritten.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your account information and activity for as long as your account exists, and delete it as described above when you delete your account. We may keep information longer when the law requires it or when we need it to resolve disputes, prevent abuse or enforce our agreements.
7. Your choices and rights
- You can change your display name, profile photo and clubs at any time on the Account page.
- You can block another user, and you can leave a team.
- You can delete your account at any time, as described above.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but you will need to sign in again.
You may also ask us to confirm whether we hold personal information about you; to give you a copy of it; to correct it; or to delete it. Some state laws, including the Colorado Privacy Act and the California Consumer Privacy Act, give residents these rights when the law applies to us. We honor these requests from anyone, whether or not such a law applies.
To make a request, email [email protected] from the email address on your account. We may need to confirm that you control that address before we act on a request. We will respond within 45 days, and we will not discriminate against you for making a request. If we decline a request, we will tell you why, and you may reply to that email to appeal our decision.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information, including encrypted connections, sign-in by one-time codes, and database access rules. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.
9. Children
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete the account and its information. If you believe a child under 13 is using the Service, email [email protected].
10. Where information is processed
Puck Party is based in the United States and the Service is intended for people in the United States. Information we collect is processed in the United States and wherever our service providers operate. The Service is not directed to people in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. If a change is material, we will give additional notice, for example in the Service or by email. Changes take effect when posted, unless we say otherwise.
